Another pre race deluge meant that Magic’s outside draw wasn’t as bad as it first appeared.  Jason Hart had a plan to stay away from the inside where the ground was worse and switch to the stands rail up the straight.  The plan worked and the pair passe the post 10 lengths clear and eased down!

“Quicker than the preceding division by 0.81sec. They raced near side in the straight. MAGICAL EFFECT in a switch of headgear, took this race apart, a seventh career success. His outside stall actually proved a big advantage due underfoot conditions and the veteran enjoyed being allowed to get on with it. Hopefully the handicapper won’t take the form literally, although his last win in 2021 came off a mark of 69.”
