WINNER! Katheefa at Chelmsford – 31st May 2019
Katheefa bounced back to form at Chelmsford having run disappointing over 5f at Wolverhampton – an engagement he took because he was ahead of the handicapper. Always on his head that day he was a different proposition back over 6f, under Nathan Evans, winning off his highest ever handicap mark.
“The feature contest was a decent sprint handicap. An outsider came through to win well up the far rail in the final furlong in a good comparative time. Zac Brown lost his rider leaving the stalls in an eventful start to proceedings. KATHEEFA was representing a notable trainer in handicaps on this track. He reportedly never travelled over 1f shorter on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta earlier this month. He got into a good position from a fair draw in about fourth entering the straight. The 5yo picked up best on the far rail in the final furlong, as the long-time leader got swamped. He holds another C&D entry next Thursday.”
