Chappy repeated his succuss of a year ago when winning the same 7f handicap at Newcastle on Good Friday.  He didn’t go on to win again last year but is much lower on the turf this time round so can hopefully add to his tally on the grass.

“CHAPLIN BAY repeated the feat of 12 months ago, winning this race off the same mark and a near-identical lay-off. Although he was a decisive winner here, he never quite matched his reappearance effort subsequently in 2017 and that sounds a note of caution.”
