Arnie has been with us since we claimed him for £5000 out of a Wolverhampton race in 2008.  He’s a real yard favourite and won his 9th race for us and 10th in total when taking the last at Thirsk evening meeting.  We felt he was going through the motions a little as he’s come a long way down the handicap so we stepped him up in trip and started holding him up as “a change is as good as a rest”!

 “Mainly exposed and ordinary sorts in this 40-60 handicap which was run at a rather a stop-start gallop with the pace slowing markedly down the far side. AMAZING BLUE SKY was having his 96th start, and though he’d won nine times, he’d never won over this trip. Ridden from off the pace this time, he travelled well and stayed to make the most of his falling handicap mark for he was running off a mark 6lb lower than for his last win which was last June.”
