“The opening contest was a modest selling handicap. They went a contested gallop initially which inevitably calmed down mid-race on the soft ground. NICKSCREAMCRACKER was dropping into this grade for the first time and, as the sole 3yo in the field, was in receipt of a healthy 12lb weight-for-age allowance. He had already proven reasonably competitive over this C&D on good to firm earlier in the month, and handled the contrasting conditions well for a game first career success after making steady headway from over 3f out. He should have more to offer under testing conditions but there was no bid for him afterwards.”
