WINNER! Mutamaded shows a liking for Ripon – 19th April 2018

Two trips to Ripon and two successes for Mutamaded, know as Black Muta as we also have a Ginger Muta – Mutarakez who is chestnut!  Great to see Jimmy back in the winners enclosure on his first day back in the saddle on the racecourse.

“Add 12yds to race distance. A decent and competitive handicap on paper, but the favourite was sent off a very skinny price for a race like this. A dramatic finish too for a contest in which they finished well spread out.

MUTAMADED, a 50-1 winner over C&D last summer, in many ways caused a surprise here too as he looked an unlikely winner until late on. Held up in midfield, he stayed on strongly up the inside rail but would surely have only finished second had the runner-up stayed straight. He was reportedly unsuited by the heavy ground when running poorly at Chester last September, so presumably the ground had dried out just enough for him here.”

Racing Post, 2018

“Mutamaded ran alright at Chelmsford last time and we knew he likes the track. He’s quite lightly raced and could go on to better things.”
