An exciting win for owner/breeders Graham Scruton and Dennis Williamson – seeing their homebred, Foxy Rebel break his maiden tag at Nottingham under Franny Norton.  Rebel has been a long term project, as he didn’t stop growing and is a big, long striding lad.  Hopefully he can go on from this and continue to reward thier patience.

“The rail was set out 2yds on the home bend increasing the race distance by 6yds. This moderate handicap was run at a modest gallop early and the winner made all. FOXY REBEL, well beaten in seven previous starts, was having his second start following a wind operation. He set off in front and got a fairly easy lead. He looked set to be run down entering the last furlong, but found plenty to hold off the favourite.”
