WINNER! Danish Duke follows up at Ayr 4th July 2016

Duke followed up his easy Catterick win at Ayr but this time the finish was a lot more exciting.  Trapped in a pocket Jimmy had to come around the field and Duke picked up well to hit the front in the shadow of the line.

26 Danish Duke“Heavy rain fell prior to this moderate sprint handicap. The principals came clear towards the stands’ side.  DANISH DUKE overcame a troubled passage and got up near the finish. He was fairly treated under his penalty, but conceded plenty of weight all round and must be rated value for further. This is also the first time he’s gained back-to-back wins so he’s clearly peaking, and the inclement summer is much to his liking.”

Racing Post, 2016

I was going well but I thought the gap wasn’t going to come. I had to take him back and then round horses and fortunately we got there just in time. Danish Duke is thriving at present and he loves this sort of ground.”
