TWO WINNERS! A double at Southwell – 26th November 2015

A brilliant day at Southwell for the team, book ending the card!

It was fantastic to see, soon to be ten year old, Amazing Blue Sky get his head in front for the twelfth time at Southwell. He recently enjoyed a days hunting, ridden by Ruth’s Dad Stephen, which really freshened him up.

Amazing Blue Sky“A moderate handicap, especially with several wrong at the weights, and they finished very well spread out.  AMAZING BLUE SKY was effectively 2lb wrong, but that was also the case when he won over a furlong shorter here in February. He gets this trip well, though, and having moved into contention turning in he managed to grind out victory after a protracted duel with the runner-up. This was his 12th win on his 121st Flat start.”

“Amazing Blue Sky is amazing. We freshened him up by taking him hunting and Southwell suits him better than Wolverhampton as it’s riding pretty quick there now. We’ll keep him going and try and win some more at Southwell.”

It’s more than a year since we bought Danish Duke and after a couple of problems including a nasty cut sustained on his first run for us and a minor wind op he came good at Southwell to win under Jimmy.

Danish Duke
“A modest handicap.  DANISH DUKE came into this 0-11, but he ran much better when chasing home an easy winner on his Fibresand debut over C&D a fortnight earlier and built on that, although he hung away to his left after hitting the front well inside the last and only just held on. There should be plenty more opportunities for him on this surface in the coming weeks.”
