Having been 2nd on his previous three outings it was great to see Graham get his head in front under Serena Brotherton.  Graham won the same race last year under Ryan who was having his first ride in public.  Graham is a real yard favourite, a big handsome grey, who cost only £2000 in October 2011 and has now won us 7 races.

“After a warm, dry day, the going was soft, good to soft in places.  A moderate amateur riders’ sprint, but a second successive win in the race for HAB REEH. The gelding has been in good form of late and, with a top amateur on board, sat just off the pace before coming through to score in routine fashion. This was a career-high winning mark for him, so he will have to step up again to follow up.”

Look On By bounced back well after showing little in four starts so far this year but had dropped in the handicap as a result.

“A low-grade handicap and those who raced prominently filled three of the first four places. LOOK ON BY had not shown much since making all at Thirsk last August, but this was the first time he had dropped below that winning mark and he duly repeated the trick. He was challenged by both the market leaders in the straight, but dug in and was going away at the finish.”
