TWO WINNERS! A Grange Park double – 29th August 2015

A busy day for Team Carr with runners at three meetings but we were rewarded with a double!

Although Cosmic Chatter has been placed twice for us so far this season, he has been somewhat disappointing but as a result has come down the handicap and was the first leg of our owner/trainer/jockey across the card double.  He tracked the leaders and was produced by Jimmy to win at Beverley for ownerws Grange Park Racing. In front

“Division one of an unexceptional sprint handicap, in which the two pacesetters fell right away. COSMIC CHATTER hadn’t scored for three years and 23 starts, but not for the first time this term he’d shaped like a well-handicapped horse two starts previously (C&D, soft) and he confirmed that suspicion in no uncertain terms here. He’s actually had relatively few tries over a stiff 5f and looks worth setting similar assignments for the time being.”

Abushamah ran encouragingly on his first start since we purchased him out of Kevin Prendagast’s Irish yard when finishing third at Thirsk but after fluffing the start he stayed on strongly under Jimmy to be our second winner of the day in the Grange Park Racing silks this time at Redcar’s evening meeting.Abushamah in the winners enclosure

“The strongest race on the card and, having gone a sound gallop throughout, they posted easily the best time performance, being the only race to dip under standard. ABUSHAMAH sat off the pace before finishing strongest of all to get off the mark for his new connections, having come over from Ireland last month. He was rated in the low 80s last summer so there is room for manoeuvre with his current mark, even after a rise for this success, and connections appear to have quite a nice horse on their hands.”
