A great day at Beverley with Oriental Splendour getting back in the winning groove under Same James.  It’s been a long time between drinks but the patience of owners Alan and Margret Swinburne has finally been repaid.

“There was a bunched finish to this ordinary sprint handicap. ORIENTAL SPLENDOUR has never found winning easy but he was given a good ride here, being delivered with a strong late run and just getting up in the final strides. He’s dropped a long way in the handicap since his last win in June 2017 off 67. Regarding the improvement in form, Ruth Carr could offer no explanation to the stewards other than the yard appears to be in better form.”

Kylie stepped up again, this time ridden by Tom Eaves, to win her fourth race at Beverley on the bounce.

“Add 7yds. They went a good gallop here and the race set up for the closers. KYLIE RULES won easier than the margin suggested here last time, and she had no problems defying a 3lb rise to land a four-timer. It has to be said, though, the race couldn’t have worked out any better, with those up front going off too quick and the race falling into her lap.”
