Frosty is our first WINNER of 2016 – 23rd March 2016

The saying goes “good things come to those who wait”!  Well it did for the connections of Frosty The Snowman who we’ve also called, among other things, Frosty The Slowman!  Frosty ran well first time out this year and followed up by winning under Jimmy at Southwell over 1m 3f.  Jimmy earnt every penny of his riding fee, pushing Frosty for much of the race.

“A moderate middle-distance handicap won by a longstanding maiden.  FROSTY THE SNOWMAN, 0-25 coming into this, got knocked to the back of the field early but that may have suited him. He didn’t look to be travelling that well at halfway, but he got stronger the further he went and forged his way between horses late on to finally break his duck. He does go well here, but whether he can repeat this remains to be seen.”

Racing Post, 2016

“We thought quite a bit of Frosty The Snowman as a 3yo and he was disappointing. It was a good run last time and he was a big backward horse so might be coming to himself now. Riding him from behind might have helped instead of forcing him.”
