The journey to Musselburgh was not an easy one.  High winds, rain, sleet and snow made for challenging driving conditions but our efforts paid off with a quick fire double!

Ellaal has shown a liking for Musselburgh and bounced back from a disappointing run at Wolverhampton to win from a bad draw under Paul Mulrennen.  They sat with the leader until taking it up at about half way and kicking clear up the home straight.

“The rain continued and the ground was changed to soft all over following this race.  ELLAAL won from 8lb lower than when successful over C&D in August 2014. He couldn’t dominate as he had then, but was forwardly placed and found enough in a race where few really picked up.”

Frosty The Snowman was also bouncing back after a disappointing run on the all weather.  He isn’t the easiest as he showed by bucking and kicking all the way out of the parade ring and onto the racetrack but Jimmy got a great tune out of him in the race and although first off the bridle he came through to win with his ears pricked in true Frosty style!

“A moderate staying handicap.  FROSTY THE SNOWMAN took a while to win a race, but he finally came good at Southwell in March and, after a disappointing run at that same venue last time, he stayed on well to double his tally. He’ll remain at the right end of the handicap when reassessed.”
