WINNER! Vic makes it an Ayr double – 25th July 2016
Vic made a good day great when winning the mile handicap under Jimmy. Never the most straightforward he did hang left but won pretty nicely onthe soft ground that he loves.
“A fair and competitive handicap, though the first two eventually pulled clear. The whole field came over to the stands’ rail on turning in this time. VICTOIRE DE LYPHAR, who was found to have bled at Beverley last time, ran without any hind shoes here. Held up off the pace, he weaved his way through the field up the straight and was always going to win once in front, despite hanging a little. He has won off much higher marks in his time and although not as good now, he still has what it takes at this sort of level.”

“Last time at Beverley Victoire de Lyphar burst a blood vessel. When he’s relaxed and he gets his breathing right he can run, and he likes soft ground as well. We were struggling with him last year, but the bit we have on him now seems to be suiting him.”
