WINNER! Vallarta wins at Ayr – 25th July 2016
A gutsy performanace from Vallarta under Jimmy at Ayr on ground that wasn’t really to his liking and his first try over 7f since joining us. After being placed on his last few runs, as always, Val put his head down and really tried and just held on from the fast finishing 2nd placed horse.
“A fair handicap and a race of changing fortunes, with almost four different leaders inside the last furlong. As in the opener, the winner made his effort up the centre of the track. VALLARTA was having his first try over this far in more than two years. Despite racing keenly enough in midfield early, he was still able to force his way to the front well inside the last furlong and just got first run on the second horse. He doesn’t win very often, but remains relatively unexposed over 7f.”
Racing Post, 2016
“Vallarta is a gutsy horse and he’s been unlucky this year over six, and I’m delighted he’s got a win because he tries so hard.”
Jimmy Sullivan, 2016
