WINNER! Red Cape wins at Wolverhampton – 7th July 2015
I’ve kept saying that I would retire Red when he won but now I’m not so sure! It was great to see the old boy come from last to first under Jimmy but not nice to see a horrible fall for two jockeys and horses.
“A moderate sprint handicap and drama for all the wrong reasons with Cumbrianna clipping heels and falling at halfway, hampering Danzoe, Bold Max, Diamond Vine, Seven Lucky Seven and to a lesser extent the winner, while causing Bilash’s rider to be unseated. RED CAPE, having his 160th start, had a visor on for the first time and was travelling really well when having to swerve to avoid the horrible incident on the home bend, but still managed to put in a power-packed finish down the outside and end his 26-race losing run. The 12yo obviously still retains plenty of ability.”

“The visor probably helped, when I asked him to go Red Cape picked up”
