Great to get Muta’s head in front after two good seconds in April.  Never on the bridle, PJ McDonald was shoving him along for all of the 6f, getting a nice tow into the race from the eventual second to win by three quarters of a length.

“A fair sprint handicap. There was more of a spread of pace central to near side compared to the opening contest and the first four horses home were drawn high on this occasion. MUTANAASEQ went close in a slightly better Ripon contest 49 days earlier and was able to get up late from off the pace despite being raised 3lb for that April defeat. He should remain competitive once reassessed this summer.”
