WINNER! Success at Chester – 13th September 2014
Marcret was a welcome winner at Chester. In recent weeks the horses have been running well but many are in the grip of the handicapper after winning earlier in the season. Marcret was sent to us in the middle of July as a well handicapped horse who needed a change of scenary.
“A fiercely competitive handicap, but the gallop wasn’t strong.MARCRET, twice a winner at this track in the past, raced keenly back in the field but he came through travelling strongly and got the gap when he needed it in the straight. He quickened up to win easily and it’s just possible that the switch to Ruth Carr’s stable has done him some good. Undeniably well handicapped on his best form, he might be able to win again in the coming weeks. QUOTES Ruth Carr, trainer of Marcret: He likes it round here and, although he has a high head carriage, it seems to be natural gait for him, as he carries his head like that even when you lunge him.”
