TWO WINNERS! A double at Pontefract 2nd May 2018
A great day at Pontefract with 5 runners, lots of owners in attendence and a double. Ginger Muta and Jimmy kicked off the party and Foxy landed the apprentice race under Sebastian Woods.
“This looked competitive on paper but the first two finished well clear. MUTARAKEZ, quietly ridden out the back, enjoyed a ground-saving trip into the straight but had plenty of ground to make up on the leader from the turn in. He quickened up well, though, passing several rivals before going in pursuit of the leader and catching him in the final few yards. A 4lb turnaround in the weights with Lamloom compared with their Nottingham meeting helped, while the way the pair pulled well clear of the rest suggests both are ahead of their marks.”

“A modest contest in which few got involved. FOXTROT KNIGHT ran well at Wolverhampton last time when only narrowly failing to get up having had to sweep wide off the final bend, and things worked out far more smoothly here. He raced just off the leader and then saw him off in the straight, in a race that concerned only them from the turn in. He’ll bid to follow up at Brighton on Tuesday.”

“The only suitable race I could find for Foxtrot Knight next week was at Brighton so he’ll have a trip to the seaside.”
