Having won twice earlier in the year, Be Perfect turned in three disappointing efforts with no real explanation. He bounced back in style to win at Hamilton under Jack Garrity.
"A moderately-run affair in which it paid to race handy and with the first five in a bit of a heap it isn't likely to be strong form. BE PERFECT had run three moderate races since winning at Beverley in April. He was back to form here in a race that went his way as he raced close up in a moderately-run contest and fund plenty for pressure. However, his recent record is patchy and consistency not his strong suit."
