Cono Zur was successful under a good front running ride from Jimmy at Ayr.
"A run-of-the-mill handicap in which the winner was another to make the vast majority of the running. CONO ZUR came good in July last year and having signalled he was on the way back at Carlisle last time, he proved far too strong for his rivals off a much-reduced mark. While he was suited by dictating the pace, he was full value for his comfortable win and is still going to look competitively treated once reassessed his two wins last summer were off a 9lb higher mark."

Mutafaakir was dropped to 5f for the first time on the suggestion of PJ McDonald but it was Jimmy that did the steering when Muta took the sprint at Ayr. Not a straightforward horse, he keeps his jockeys and grooms on their toes with his unexpected antics!
" A small field and something of a messy race although the winner, who was providing Ruth Carr and James Sullivan with a double on the card, was full value for his win having hung all over the track. MUTAFAAKIR, dropping to 5f for the first time, landed his second win of the year. Having shown plenty of early dash, he started to hang towards the middle of the track after a couple of furlongs. Once his rider picked up his whip he did straighten back up and by the time he rejoined the main pack, he was comfortably on top. This wasn't a strong race but he has at least opened up more options.
