Macmillan Open and Race Day – 15th May 2016
Thirty five people enjoyed the Open Day and Ripon Races on Sunday. The sun shone, and the horses performed beautifully on the gallop and in the paddock. It was an amazing sight for all to see. This was followed by an excellent three course lunch and racing at Ripon. Sadly Dubai Dynamo didn’t manage to win the race again this year, but it didn’t spoil the fun of the day, with guests judging the Best Turned Out and presenting the trophy in the Ruth Carr Macmillan Charity Race, and all enjoying a flutter or two on the Tote.
The day raised £1900 with a further £1653 collected in the Macmillan buckets by the generous race goers. Another great contribution to Macmillan Charity.
Thank you to everybody – Ripon racecourse and staff, CGC caterers, the team at Mowbray, the bucket collectors, my family for all the help and hard work organising the day – and my lovely guests for making the day happen!
