The Macmillan Open Day was a fabulous day for everybody. The sun shone down on Mowbray House, and the horses put on a tremendous show. The guests were greeted with coffees and then transported in trailers to the gallop where Tory and Jimmy worked Adventureman and Ellaal whilst Ruth answered a continuous flow of questions, and described the yard’s daily routines. This was followed by the most amazing sight of teens of horses galloping down the “Walk Way” into the paddock to enjoy a few hours of turnout in the sunshine. This is the most spectactular sight to see, and the guests were thoroughly impressed with the condition of the horses, their obvious sheer contentment and the way racehorses can be trained and win races in this way! This was followed by a fabulous three course lunch at Ripon and an afternoons racing. Thank you to everybody who made the day such a success.Over £3500 was raised on the day including the bucket collections.
