Autumn Blades -sold to Alison from Scotland

Autumn is a 7yo, bright chestnut gelding, 16.2hh approx looking for a good home after retiring from racing.  Autumn has run 71 times on the flat winning nine races and being placed 29 times.   He last ran on the 9th January 2012 where he finished sore on his near hind.  We have decided to retire him and expect him to be fine to do a less physically demanding equine disapline.  He would go straight into a job as a hack or family horse and with time and effort would look fantastic in a local level showring!  He has no blemishes except some filling to his near hind joint (see photos).  He has good feet for a thorougbred and no mud fever on his big white legs.  Autumn is good to do in every way.  Straight forward to ride, does not buck, nap, rear, pull or yank.  He will ride on his own or in company.  He is ridden in a snaffle and running martingale.  He is used to being turned out with other horses, he is used to dogs, and electric fencing.  At our yard we don't ride on the road much but he is quiet when we have and with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard.  He was previously trained in Newmarket where he'll have been ridden on the road regularly.  He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and had his flu jab done in December.  He was wormed and had a routine treatment from the dentist in October.   He is a good eater and not fussy or picky. He is good to catch, with farrier and is good to load, travel, groom, clip etc. Autumn will stand tied up outside to be shod, groomed, hosed, shampooed etc.  He has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country.   He does not kick, bite, weave or box walk but does crib when stabled although he doesn't do it when turned out.  Go to the "Where are they now" page of this website to view photos and news of horses previously sold from this yard including a multiple winner of In Hand Ex Racehorses classes.  No dealers, time wasters, complete novices (he is quiet but still a TB after all!), text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York. £995 13th January 2012

Newgate - proved too good at Teamchasing to sell!

Newgate 7yo bay gelding about 16.1hh.  Neville as we call him is a fantastic jumper and I (Ruth Carr) was going to keep him as a spare horse for teamchasing but as things are I don't have time to do two and am probably only going to TC for one more season anyway due to work commitments.  He won on the flat, over hurdles and was placed over fences.  He last ran in December 2009 where he finished slightly sore.  His front joints don't look pretty but I have hunted him a  full day with Middleton, my brother a day with the York and Ainsty (South) and run him in 2 novice teamchases and he hasn't come back with any problems.  He has jumped hedges, post and rails, up and down steps and banks, into and out of water, he has jumped coffins etc and ditches out  hunting.  He has done no grid work and would go stright into a job as a hunter or cross crountry with a capable person but would need some schooling to go show jumping as he's always been asked to jump quickly - long and low.  He is used to being turned out with other horses, he is used to dogs, and electric fencing.  At our yard we don't ride on the road much but he is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard and didn't bother when hacking to the hunt meet etc.  He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a good eater and not fussy or picky. He is good to catch, with farrier and is good to load, travel, groom, clip etc. Neville will stand tied up outside to be shod, groomed, hosed, shampooed etc.  He has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country.   He goes in snaffle and is a forward going but sensible ride. He does not kick, bite, crib bite but does weave if out of routine.  He would live out if fed and rugged well.  Been turned out since April and wasted, will do someone a job.   Go to the "Where are they now" page of this website to view photos and news of horses previously sold from this yard including a multiple winner of In Hand Ex Racehorses classes.  No dealers, time wasters, complete novices (he is quiet but still a TB after all!), text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York £1500 ono

Hey Up There - sold to Jenny from Cheshire

Hey Up is looking for a good home after not making the grade as a racehorse.  3 years old, 15.2hh approx bay filly.  She raced 4 times on the flat (only only managed to beat one horse!).  She last raced on the 7th June 2011.  We bought Hey up as an unbroken yearling in October 2009, and she was straightforward and easy to break in.  She is good to do in every way.  She is used to being turned out with other horses, she is used to dogs, and electric fencing.  She wore a GP saddle for the first time yesterday for the photos and was no trouble .  She very willingly popped a couple of poles and a log.  At our yard we don't ride on the road much but she is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard.  She has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. She is a good eater and not fussy or picky. She is good to catch, with farrier and is good to load, travel, groom, clip etc.    Hey Up will stand tied up outside to be shod, groomed, hosed, shampooed etc.  She has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country.   She goes in snaffle and is a good ride.  She doesn't nap or rear and isn't spooky but occasionally puts a buck in.  She doesn't duck and dive and it's nothing that an average rider can't sit but she wouldn't be suitable for a novice.  She does not kick, bite, crib bite or wind suck, weave or box walk.    Go to the "Where are they now" page of this website to view photos and news of horses previously sold from this yard including a multiple winner of In Hand Ex Racehorses classes.  No dealers, time wasters, novices, text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York.  £950 (9th June 2011)
