Rescent is looking for a good home after retiring completely sound from racing. 3 years old, 15.2.hh approx chesnut filly. She is a good looking type who has always carried plenty of condition. She has run in 20 flat races and won once, been 2nd twice and 3rd once. She last raced on the 29th September. She is not spooky and is happy to lead on the gallops but is not a novice ride. She doesn't do anything really naughty but sometimes tries to see what she can get away with! Rescent is eligible for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes which are becoming increasingly popular. She hasn't run over hurdles/fences but has schooled over a couple of poles at home. She is used to being turned out, she is used to dogs and electric fencing. At our yard we don't ride on the road much but she was sensible when we tried her and is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard and was previously trained in Newmarket where I presume she'll have been ridden on the road to get the gallops. She has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. She is a very good eater, good to catch. She has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country. She has always been ridden in a snaffle. She does not crib bite or windsuck but if she is out of her routine she will box walk. Go to the "Where are they now?" page read comments and see photos of horses previously sold. She is to sell straight from her racing yard. No time wasters, novices, text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York. £1500 or near offer. (12th September 2010)
Update:- Rescent popped a couple of crosscountry type fences very willingly.

Precious Coral is looking for a good home after retiring from racing. 3 years old, 16.hh approx grey filly. She is a good looking type who has always looked well. She has run in 10 flat races and been 2nd once and 3rd once. She last raced on the 25th August. Precious is an eyecatching colour who will go lighter as she gets older and is eligible for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes which are becoming increasingly popular. She is used to being turned out, she is used to dogs and electric fencing. Precious had her knees operated on last winter and has raced three times since then and is completely sound. She is looking for a complete change in lifestyle as she is a bit fed up of the routine in a racing yard and become a bit nappy. At our yard we don't ride on the road much but he is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard and was previously trained in Newmarket where I presume she'll have been ridden on the road to get the gallops. She has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. She is a very good eater, good to catch, with farrier and is good to load, travel, groom etc. She will stand tied up outside to be shod, groomed, hosed, shampooed etc. She has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country. She has always been ridden in a snaffle. She does not kick, bite, rear, buck, weave, boxwalk, crib bite or windsuck. Go to the "Where are they now?" page of this website to read comments and see photos of horses previously sold. She is to sell straight from his racing yard. No time wasters, complete novices (she is sensible but still a thoroughbred after all!) text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York. £1200 ono (7th September 2010)
Update 10th September 2010:- Precious has hacked out and was sensible with traffic and in the stubble fields. She has also popped a couple of poles very willingly. Since being taken out of the race training regime she has not napped.
Update 28th September:- Unfortunately the sale fell through due to the buyers personal circumstances and not through any fault of the filly's.
Reduced to £1000

Redwater River is looking for a good home after retiring completely sound from racing. 6 years old, 16.2hh approx, good looking, dark bay/brown, gelding. Red has raced 36 times on the flat, winning 2 races and being placed 3 times. He last raced on the July 2010 but he doesn't seem to be enjoying it and is just going through the motions. He is a quick learner and is soon going in a shape. Red has always enjoyed loose schooled, showing a nice shape and doing it for fun and was soon popping a 3' approx pole and a log under the saddle. He is eligible for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes which are becoming increasingly popular. He is used to being turned out with other geldings, he is used to dogs, and electric fencing. At our yard we don't ride on the road but we have taken him on the road for the photos/video below and he didn't seem bothered at all. He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a very good eater and not fussy or picky. He is good to catch and is good to load, travel, groom etc. He is a bit ticklish to clip in the fiddly places and needs someone to hold him. He has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country. He is a snaffle mouth and a forward but sensible ride. He does not kick, bite, rear, buck, weave, boxwalk, crib bite or wind suck. He is to sell straight from his racing yard and should be double the price but we don't have time to school him on. Red China Blues is looking for a good home after retiring from racing. 4 years old, 16.1hh approx, good looking, chestnut, gelding. Red has raced 17 times on the flat, winning 1 race and being placed twice. He also ran once over hurdles before we got him. He last raced on the 6th September 2010 but he isn't enjoying it anymore. He is a quick learner and is soon going in a shape. Having not jumped since we've had him, Red had no problems popping a 3' approx pole and a few crosscountry type fences. He is eligible for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes which are becoming increasingly popular. He has good, strong feet. He is used to being turned out with other horses, he is used to dogs, and electric fencing. At our yard we don't ride on the road but we have taken him on the road for the photos/video below and he didn't bat an eyelid at a bus, a fast yellow DHL delivery van or a rattley builders trailor. He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a very good eater and not fussy or picky. He is good to catch, with farrier and is good to load, travel, groom etc. We have only had him since the summer so we haven't clipped him. Top Jaro, better known as Topper, is looking for a good home after retiring completely sound from racing. 7 years old, 16.2hh approx, bright bay, gelding with plenty of bone. He is fit and, in my opinion, would go straight into a job as a hunter with very little work. He would also make a lovely family horse or with more work would excell in another equestrian discapline. Topper has raced 41 times on the flat, winning 6 races and being placed 7 times. He also ran once over hurdles. He last raced on the 13th September 2010 but his zest for racing has now gone! He is eligible for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes which are becoming increasingly popular. He has good, strong feet. He is used to being turned out with other horses, he is used to dogs, and electric fencing. At our yard we don't ride on the road but he has also seen all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers etc and never bothered. He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a very good eater and not fussy or picky. Update:- passed a 2 stage vetting 22nd September but the sale fell through.

Raccoon has been in our yard for over 4 years and is looking for someone to give him a good home for life. He is a 10 year old, 16.1hh approx, chunky bay gelding who has raced 82 times, winning 13, placed 2nd 12 times and 3rd 12 times. He has won over £100k in prize money and last raced on the 3rd September. Raccy is an eyecatching horse, who has often won the Best Turned Out prize and been commented on as the paddock pick by the racing channel presenters. He is eligible for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes which are becoming increasingly popular but may need chance to settle down a bit first! He is used to being turned out, he is used to dogs and electric fencing. Raccy was preciously fitted with a breathing tube as he had wind trouble see right hand photo second row.. This is now grown over and would not effect him in a hacking, showing, dressage and riding club type of job. Apart having slighted rounded front joints he completely clean limbed and scar free. At our yard we don't ride on the road much but he is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard. He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a good eater, good to catch, with farrier and is good to load, travel, groom etc. He will stand tied up outside to be shod, groomed, hosed, shampooed etc. He has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races and travelled up and down the country. He has always been ridden in a snaffle but is quite forward going and would suit a confident rider until he gets the racing out of his system! He does not kick, bite, rear, buck, weave, boxwalk, crib bite or windsuck. Go to the "Where are they now?" page of this website to read comments and see photos of horses previously sold/rehomed. No time wasters, novices, text messages or joy riders please. We will require you to sign a "none racing" agreement and also provide references. 10 miles north of York. 8th September 2010
Update 10th September:- Raccy has hacked out a couple of times and is fine with traffic but was a bit jigjoggy in the stubble fields and will probably want some quiet hacking until he gets racing out of his system. He also jumped a couple of poles for the first time and was very willing and popped them nicely.

Nidamar, better known as Lucy, is looking for a good home after not making the grade as a race horse. 3 years old, 15.hh approx, dark bay, filly. Lucy has raced 8 times on the flat and she last raced on the 9th February. We have had Lucy since she was a foal and broke her in October 2008 and she was straight forward and easy to do. She is good to do in every way. She is used to being turned out with other horses, he is used to dogs, and electric fencing. Lucy is currently completely roughed off and has been living out full time since the Spring. The pictures shown are how she looks now (22nd July living on grass in the field) but don't do her justice - she is a really chunky filly, carries loads of condition and to look at you'd think she was a gelding. At our yard we don't ride on the road much but she is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard. She has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. She is a good eater and not fussy or picky. UPDATE 7th September 2010
Lucy was brought in from the field away from her friends, lunged with the tack on and ridden within 5 minutes. She was no bother at all and didn't put her back up or anything having not had tack/rider on for more than 6 months. She very willingly popped a couple of poles showing a big, careful jump. She then was tied up in the washbox with a hay net, while we combed her mane, brushed her and washed her feet to have more photos taken.

3 years old. Bay Gelding 15.1hh approx. We broke Thomas last year and he was straight forward and easy to do. Unfortunately he isn't very fast and although we took him to the racecourse for an exercise gallop he wasn't fast enough to actually race. He is good to do in every way. He naturally carries himself in a shape and would excell in any equestrian discapline with the right training. At our yard we don't ride on the road much but he is quiet with all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers, around the yard.
