WATERTIGHT - Sold to Kirsty and Patrick from Ayr

Watertight, stable name Edward, is looking for a good home after after not making the grade as a racehorse. 4 years old, 16.2hh approx bright bay gelding.  Edward has never raced due to his very laid back personality and lack of speed!  He is a big, strong type of thoroughbred with plenty of bone.   He has clean straight legs with no unslightly blemishes - if you were very picky his only conformation fault is being slighty cow hocked.   He has good strong feet.  He is used to being turned out with other horses but will go out on his own equally as well, he is used to dogs and electric fencing.  At our yard we don't ride on the road but he has also seen all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers etc and never bothered.  He does not kick, bite, rear, buck, crib bite, weave or box walk.  He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a very good eater and always carries loads of condition.  We bought him as an unbroken yearling in October 2005 and he was sent away to be professionally broken by an former advanced level event rider/trainer as we did not have the time to do him ourselves.  He was good to break and always very laid back.  Edward was then turned away to mature because he was very big and backward.  He has since been back in training and turned away again when he still didn't show any speed.  He was last in training last back end and was again turned away.  He was brought in from the field 21st July and has been ridden in a snaffle and draw reins since and is showing a nice outline.  He has never been jumped but is now trotting over poles.  He is no bother to do in or out of the stable and is good to catch, with farrier and was good to load and travel the one time he went away from the yard.  This big gentle fellow will do any job with the right schooling and is eligiable for the "Retraining of Racehorses" classes even though he is unraced as he has been in training at a licensed raceyard. He is to sell straight from his racing yard and should be double the price but we don't have the time to school him on. No dealers, time wasters, complete novices, text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York.  £2950 ovno

Newsround is looking for a good home after after retiring from racing. 6 year old, 16.2hh approx bright chestnut gelding.  Newsround last raced in August 2007 and is retired due to a knee injury.  He is now completely sound having been given plenty of time to recover and is now looking for a home as a riding horse.  He is a good, strong type of thoroughbred and was bought by Sheikh Mohammed as a 2yo for 220,00gns!  He has clean straight legs with no unslightly blemishes.  He is used to being turned out with other geldings, used to dogs and electric fencing.  At our yard we don't generally ride on the road but he has been ridden down a quiet lane on his own and didn't bat an eyelid when an articullated lorry went past.  He has also seen all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers etc and never bothered.  He does not kick, bite, rear, buck, crib bite, weave or box walk.  He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a good eater and holds his condition well.  He has only run on the flat and never been jumped.  He would enjoy hacking out and being made a fuss of. Jabraan - Sold to Vanessa from near Derby

POTENTIAL SHOWJUMPING STAR. Jabraan is looking for a good home after not making the grade as a racehorse. 6 year old, 16hh approx dark bay gelding.  He is a forward going, athletic sort with flowing paces and clean straight limbs. He is used to being turned out with other geldings. At our yard we don't ride on the road but he has seen all farm type traffic, tractors and trailers etc and never been a problem. He was previously trained in Newmartket where I'm sure he''''ll have been out on the roads. He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He is a good eater and holds his condition well. Jabraan loves to jump. We are flat yard but gave him a run over hurdles because he is such a good jumper – unfortunately he just isn't cut out to be a racehorse. He has done no grid work or serious schooling but shows a huge jump (our poles don't go high enough to test him seriously) and with the right training would surely make a top grade showjumper. He has seen flags, banners, heard loudspeakers etc at the races so although he needs some time spent reschooliong he is not as green as grass. He is to sell straight from his racing yard and should be double the price but we don't have the time to school him on. No time wasters, complete novices, text messages or joy riders please. 10 miles north of York.  £2750 ovno

Star Prize - Sold to Tracie from County Durham

11 year old, bright bay gelding, 16.2hh approx.  Beautifully mannered, retired racehorse is looking for a home to do all riding club type activities.  Star has run over hurdles and in point to points but was retired due to a tendon injury in spring 2006.   He is now completely sound having been given plenty of time to recover.  We kept him for my husband to learn to ride on but have decided (due to lack of time) to find him a new home where he can realise his full potential.  Star has hunted well and shows a brave jump across country.   He jumps combinations and a short coursse at home.  He is used to being turned out with other horses and is good to do in the stable etc.  He has a kind eye, lovely temperment and is well balanced and athletic.  Star is a very good eater and carries lots of condition.  Will hack out alone and in company and is sensible in traffic.  I  have a video clip that I couldn't upload to the site that I can email to anybody that is seriously interested.  A good home only for this lovely chap, the first person who comes to see Star will buy him.    No timewasters, text messages or joy riders please.  10 miles north of York.   £1950.00

Avontuur

Avontuur is a big french bred horse who has taken time to come to himself. He has WON 3 races over 6 furlongs at Wolverhampton but don't think he's a one track horse. Avon was 2nd of 17 in a handicap at Ayr as a big weak three year old. He acts on any going - Ayr was good to soft and he was placed in a maiden at Thirsk which was won by a Sir Michael Stoute trained horse on good to firm. We have been very patient with him and expect plenty of improvement over the coming months. Photos of his latest win.

                    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paddywack - Retired to good home.

Paddywack is a winner of 21 races! He is a real favourite of the girls in the yard - a proper little character. He has won on all types of going from firm to soft but these days seems to prefer to get his toe in on an uphill track. Particularly likes Pontetract and Beveley and has often run well for a girl. He's getting on a bit but will still win a race or two this year!   Photos show after his win at Redcar last September, enjoying a dip in the flooded lunge pit and trying to find grass under the snow!

                           --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cadogen Square

Cadogen Square is a super looking mare and is a winner of 3 races. She has won over 7 furlongs and a mile but is also effective over shorter having being placed at 6 furlongs. She has form on the all weather but looks happier on the turf on going from firm to soft.  Photo shows Cadogen winning at Beveley as a three year old.

                         -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunley Soveriegn

Sunley Sovereign is a lovely big horse who has taken time to fill his frame. He is a winner over 7 furlongs at Southwell. He has had breathing problems in the past and has now been fitted with a tube and we are expecting to see a completely different horse when he runs with the tube for the first time. Previously rated 70, he is now well handicapped and we are looking forward to lots of fun with him this summer.

                ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only A Splash

Only A Splash is from a family of really good sprinters. His grand Dam Soba won 13 races including the Stewards Cup at Goodwood, 3 group races and was Champion European Sprinter in the early 1980's. Only A Splash is half brother to Soaked, who didn't win until he was five years old but went on to win 19 races, placed 2nd 16 times and 3rd 18 times.  Splash was 2nd as a 2 year old at Catterick and was lightly raced last year. He is now much stronger and looks potentially well handicapped.  Photos show half brother Soaked winning a £12,000 0-90 handicap at Ripon in June 20002 and Only A Splash enjoying a break from training last Auntumn.

Charlie Chan - SOLD to the first viewer.

"Charlie Chan" is looking for a good home after not making the grade as a racehorse. 7 years old, 16.2hh grey gelding.  He doesn't have many miles on the clock having being broken and in work as 3 year old and then turned away to mature. He was put back into training at the end of last summer and has run in 4 races but is far too laid back to make it as a racehorse. Charlie is the most sensible thoroughbred I have ever sat on. Snaffle mouth. Will go out alone or in company and doesn't get wound up or pulls your arms out. Has never bucked, reared, spooked, shyed or napped during his time with us. He is used to being turned out with other geldings. At our yard we don't ride on the road but he has seen all farm type traffic, tractors and trailors etc and never batted an eyelid. He was previously trained in Middleham where I'm sure he'll have been out on the roads. He has a full Weatherbys passport, is microchipped and vaccinated and wormed up to date. He has clean legs, no lumps, bumps or scars, a correct confirmation and moves straight. He has only run in flat races but has schooled over some coloured poles at just less then 3 foot taking it all in his stride and never refusing. He is a good eater and holds his condition well. He is well mannered and has a lovely nature. He will excell in any sphere. The first person who comes to see Charlie will buy him. He is to sell straight from his racing yard and should be double the price but we don't have the time to school him on. He must go to a good home as we are very sorry to see him go.
