A pleasing start to 2016 – 2nd January 2016
Our first runners of the new year ran well at Southwell.
Hab Reeh, off the track for over 9 months with a foot injury, was drawn out wide and raced prominently into the straight. He then looked like he was going to tire and finish down out of the back but got his second wind and stayed on well to just miss out on 4th place. This was an encouraging performance for his owners who have been very patient.
Danish Duke bounced back and ran well to finish 2nd having been very disappointing on his previous run for no apparent reason. Drawn in stall one he jumped and travelled well, making then running until collared in the shadow of the post.
